The School Day

The school day begins at 8.55am (soft opening from 8.40am) and finishes as 3.15pm. We are open to children for 32 hours 55 minutes a week.
Parents, carers and children are able to have access to the school site from 8.30am.
When the playground doors open at 8.40am children can quietly and sensibly walk into the school building, giving them time to get organised for their learning and have the opportunity to talk to their friends and teacher.
Teachers are in the class ready to supervise the children that come in at this time and teaching assistants supervise the doors.
Any children that choose not to come in at 8.40am must walk quietly and sensibly to the door before they close at 8.55am.
There are different entrances for different classes:
  • Year R will go in through one YR door.
  • Years 1 and 2 will come in via the Key Stage 1 playground.
  • Years 3, 5 and 6 come in via the Key Stage 2 playground.
  • Year 4 will come in via the side entrance from the path to Chamberlayne field.
At the end of the day teachers escort the children to the appropriate outside door. Children will be told not to leave until the adult they are expecting collects them.
Parents and carers must notify the Class Teacher or school office before 2.30pm if someone else is collecting their child.
