In a world where technology is advancing at lightening speed, we want our children to feel confident and be safe in the way they use IT.

Our computing curriculum has been developed to support children to become proficient users of technology so that they develop the knowledge and skills to thrive in the ever changing technological world.

It is in-line with National Curriculum guidelines and includes coding. The core of computing is computer science, in which pupils are taught the principles of information and computation, how digital systems work and how to put this knowledge to use through programming.

Our digital technology lessons equip pupils with the skills they require to use technology with confidence across the curriculum.

E-Safety is an essential part of keeping children safe. At Weston Park Primary School we have security measures in place which are monitored to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material.

Any E-Safety incidents are recorded and managed in accordance with our E-Safety Policy. Our staff receive training and this is regularly updated.

E-safety is at the heart of the computing curriculum and is a part of every lesson ensuring that children are equipped with strategies that enable them to make confident and safe judgements about their online activity at school and at home.

SMSC stands for Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development. This is at the heart of our curriculum and we want our children to make safe choices and develop a deep spiritual, moral, social and cultural understanding. We actively look for links to this.

We also teach P4C, Philosophy for Children, and we want our children to have the chance to discuss and debate in an open-minded manner.
